Ho Mai Phuong is our Director. She created Focus Asia Vietnam with Thomas Weigelt and his partners. Her foremost concern is delivering customer satisfaction. She earned a university degree in Russian philology (linguistics) and also speaks German and English fluently. Miss Phuong enjoys reading, playing the guitar, and caring for her children. She is very proud of Maria and Christian who can speak five languages.

Thomas Weigelt, our Managing Director, is German. He moved to Saigon in 1992 and began working for the tourism industry soon after. For ten years, he visited much of Indochina; he is now a recognized travel expert on Vietnam. Thomas likes to laugh with friends around good food and beer. He enjoys playing the guitar and singing. He likes to meet interesting people from around the world. His dream is to travel overland from Vietnam to Germany. Thomas speaks Russian, English, Japanese, and Vietnamese fluently. He is married to Ms. Phuong, together, they have two lovely children.

Patrick Gaveau is the Focus Asia Sales & Marketing Director. He was born in Africa in 1972 and is a French citizen. He has traveled to more than 50 countries and settled recently in Saigon with his wife. He was a professional water-skier for ten years. Now, he enjoys tennis and skiing. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics & International Tourism Management and pursued various programs in social sciences and communications. Patrick has been a manager in the leisure and tourism industry for ten years. He speaks fluent French, Spanish, and English. He loves to meet new people while seeing new places. His dream is to have a happy and healthy family.

Oleg Shafranov is a Sales Executive at Focus Asia’s Saigon headquarters. Before coming to Vietnam had traveled extensively throughout Latin America and had lived in Peru and Chile. Previously, he was responsible for emerging former-USSR markets at a major Chilean tour operator. Since his first visit to Vietnam, he fell in love with this country and its people. Oleg most enjoys discovering new cultures, meeting new people, and learning new languages.

NGUYEN TUONG MANH NGO is the Sales Manager of the International Sales & Marketing Department in Saigon. He was born in March 1971 and has visited most travel destinations in Vietnam and in the region. He speaks English fluently and has been a manager in tourism industry for more than ten years. He is enthusiastic and loves to meet new people and his dream is to visit all interesting destinations of the world. Mr. Ngo is married and has a son, Nguyen Tran Manh Tung. During free time, he enjoys reading and swimming.

Vu Thi Mai Phuong works with the reservations and customer service department. She is an enthusiastic person who joined us recently. Before that, she worked as sales executive for a local Vietnamese inbound tour operator. Her Russian and English speaking skills are excellent. She is a creative and friendly person who enjoys working with the tourism industry; it gives her opportunities to speak foreign languages while meeting international clients. Miss Phuong earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Education in Ho Chi Minh City. She enjoys listening to music, playing sports and shopping. Her dream is simply to travel the world.

Ngo Duc Truc is our Reservations Manager. He was born in April 1971 and is greatly respected by our staff and clients for his friendliness, calmness, accuracy, and professional attitude. He strives always to deliver the best possible service to the customer. Before joining us in 2005, he worked for the tourism industry as a salesman and tour operator. He is fluent in English and has traveled to many destinations in the region. His dream is to visit renowned destinations around the world. Mr. Truc is married; the father of a boy, Ngo Duc Tin. During his leisure time, he likes reading and listening to music.

Le My Phuong works in our Russian reservations department. She has been working with us since day one, has over five years’ experience in the Vietnam tourism industry. She was born in 1977 and is the mother of a playful young son. His name is Lam Thanh Nhan. Besides working in the tourism industry to broaden her knowledge of the world, she is an experienced graphic designer. Miss Phuong earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the Social Sciences & Humanities University in Ho Chi Minh City. At work, she provides flexibility. Her dream is always to be healthy while living happily with her family.

Liliya Govorko is Focus Asia’s Representative in Ho Chi Minh City. She came to Vietnam in August 2008. She was born and grew up in Moscow and before her first Asian trip, to Vietnam, she had never traveled outside Europe. She has a PR management background at an IT company. To be effectively helpful to Russian visitors to Ho Chi Minh City, Liliya had to learn lots of practical information about the city and its surroundings. And of course she went on all excursions available to be able to help clients pick the most interesting and exciting ones. She believes that motivation is key at work. Liliya loves her family and friends very much. She enjoys horseback riding, bicycling, dancing, skating, and skiing

Nguyen Thuy Dieu was born in 1982. She works in the reservations department and used to be a tour guide. She is attractive and efficient. She has traveled to Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia. She is knowledgeable about many of Vietnam’s regions. Miss Dieu earned a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism from Varlang University. She loves sports and has won many medals and competitions. When she does not work, she enjoys shopping and having coffee with her friends.

Pham Thi Ngoc Phuong is a Tour Operator. She often works in our Russian reservations department. She strives to exceed customer expectations while always being friendly. She was born in 1982 and loves traveling. Miss Phuong earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the College of Technology and Industrial Management. Her dream is to be “Wonderwoman”, the female counter part of Superman! In the real world, she enjoys simple things such as eating and shopping.

Nguyen Thi Minh Khiem is in charge of our Accounting department in Saigon. She was born in 1979 and, if you ever meet her, you’ll discover that she is extremely kind, joyful and respectful. She is the mother of Ben, a lovely baby boy. She hasn’t traveled outside of Vietnam, but she loves learning and speaks English quite well. Mrs. Khiem’s dream is to earn enough money to travel the world while taking care of her baby and parents.

Dau Thi My Huong works for Focus Asia’s Accounting Department in Saigon. She was born in 1982 and is a tiny, quiet person. You’ll often see her focused on her screen and spreadsheets. If you get to know her better, you’ll discover that she also has a big heart. She speaks basic English and started learning more in our weekly staff training program. Her dream is to travel around the world east to west. She likes listening to music and is keen to satisfy customer requests. She earned a diploma in Accounting in Ho Chi Minh City.

Nguyen Thi Ai Van is an accountant with Focus Asia Saigon. She was born in 1980 and is a very sweet, friendly person. She is tiny in size but has a big heart. She speaks some English and is learning more in our weekly staff training program. She has never practiced her English skills outside of Vietnam but hopes to do so soon. Miss Van likes working with numbers and earned an Accounting diploma in Hanoi. She enjoys shopping with her friends or relaxing at home. 

DANG THANH MAN is our Hanoi Branch Office manager. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages. He’s fluent in Russian and English. Man was born in 1954 and has been working in the tourism field since 1988. He likes the Russian saying : “Rather to have a hundred friends than to have hundred rubles.” He loves traveling and has traveled throughout Vietnam and abroad. He’s been to many European and Asian countries as well as to Australia. His hobby is listening to classical music, reading and gardening. He has a happy family with a wife and two sons. He enjoys spending time with his family and working with tourists.

VU THI THANH HOA graduated from the Phuong Dong University in Hanoi with a degree in Tourism Management. Hoa was born in 1981 and has worked in the Hanoi Branch office since 2006 as a tour operator. She can speak English and strives to exceed customer expectations. Her hobbies include listening to music, reading, watching movies, shopping and traveling with her family as well as her friends. She hopes to someday see other lands around the world and learn about the cultures of other nations. She’s always glad to make new friends.

Ha Thuc Dung has been the Focus Asia representative in Danang since 2004. A healthy man born in 1954, he likes meeting people of various backgrounds to discover new cultures and to better understand the world in which we live. He’s been to Laos and Thailand, and speaks English fluently. Apart from being a certified Tour Guide he earned several degrees including an M.A. in Applied Linguistics, and a certificate in Tourism Business and Hotel Management. He is the father of a daughter, named Ha Thuc Nhat Nguyen. He enjoys reading, walking and doing physical exercises.

Ngo Thi Thu Hien has been our representative in Phan Thiet since December 2004. She speaks Russian and English and has travelled to destinations such as Russia and Thailand. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Orion in Russia and is about to graduate from Dalat University. She has two daughters whose names are Tran Thi Hai An and Tran Ngo My Binh. She enjoys playing with them at the park or else listening to music and shopping. Her wish is that more and more tourists come to visit Vietnam to discover the beauty of its traditions and culture.

Regina Khvatkina is Focus Asia’s representative in Phan Thiet. She was born in Moscow in 1984. Regina graduated from the Russian State University of Trade and Economics and has a degree in Hospitality and Tourism. She likes to work and socialize with lots of people, travel and throw parties for her friends. Her hobbies are kite surfing and horseback riding. She dreams of working out an itinerary with a world map in hand and making a trip around the world

Huynh Khanh is our representative in Nha Trang since January 2006. He was born in 1969 and apart from his native tongue he speaks Russian fluently. He has earned two degrees in Philology (linguistics) and Law. Mr. Huynh Khanh likes to play football, to practice music and singing, and shopping.

Elena Orlova is Focus Asia’s Representative in Nha Trang. She is responsible for meeting and seeing off tourists in Nha Trang, organizing their excursions and leisure activities. Elena has a degree in History. Previously, she worked as a Russian-English interpreter at major international companies. Before coming to Vietnam she lived and worked in India and Nepal. Her interests are travel and visiting new countries. She likes studying foreign languages and cultures and believes that life is a big adventure.
